We’ve just returned from a great trip to the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands.

For two weeks we stayed in a small village on the west coast, had cold showers and went to sleep and got up with the chickens.

It’s been a real blast to sit high on the cliffs in the garden chair – or tramp inside or on top of the volcano – and watch the trade wind (Passatwind) cover parts of the island in clouds and rain while others remained sunny and hot.

Where we were it was often rainy yet the light was quite magnificent.

One of the highlights were the many dogs and cats with their ’see if I care‘ attitude.
